The magazine is able to communicate their message in very few words that accompany the image. For this cover page the caption is "Post - West" The magazine uses an angry male solider to convey a sense of violence to the audience.

Reenforce or subvert to typical genre conventions?
The front cover for this magazine subverts to the typical magazine because it does not have lost of headlines from the articles inside. The cover is very minimalist and has been mostly taken up by the photograph. As well as this the cover does not show the price, date of publication or the barcode on the from cover. Despite this the magazine does use a large main image that takes up the majority of the page. Along with this is a caption "Post - West" which helps to explain the image to the viewer and helps them to understand what message they are trying to put across to their audience.
